The purpose of this blog is to create a space for interesting posts on and ensuing discussion about NKS ideas, NKS talks, articles, conferences, and other news items. We will expose the open problems in NKS, and discuss solved problems as well as developments. We’ll explore the applications of NKS in fields as varied as physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, the social sciences, and the arts.
Abby Nussey works for Wolfram Research. She participated in the 2008 and 2010 NKS Summer School and was a teaching assistant for the 2009 NKS Summer School. She is a Special Projects Technical Project Manager for Wolfram Research and Event Director for the Wolfram Science Summer School (formerly the NKS Summer School). She is also an administrator of the NKS Forum.
Her paper, “Outer Median and Probabilistic Cellular Automata on Network Topologies,” was recently published in the Journal of Complex Systems. She has her B.A. in physics and M.A. in mathematics.
She has also authored more than 50 Demonstrations available on the Wolfram Demonstrations Project website. Most of them are NKS systems.
